HAKAINDE HICHILEMA HAS FAILED

This statement has become widespread among many Zambian and I am not surprised. My expectations of HH post the 12 August 2021 elections included the following;

(1) Debt restructuring

(2) IMF bailout

(3) Appreciating Kwacha..

So far I have ticked all the 3, to me he hasn't failed. But when you analyze my expectations, you will discover that a simple mind ( and these form the majority) will not make sense of what it really means to achieve  1 and 2. That is why these simple minds are crying out saying HH has failed. They understand nothing about why we are facing austerity and they are not even aware that we are under austerity measures. They think with their mouths and stomachs. 

It is not impossible for you to have two or *three streams of income* to counter the austerity measures, so if you find yourself not affording certain things, don't blame anyone but yourself. If you work a bit harder you will be able to afford whatever you want, the failure here is yourself. 

When electricity tariffs go up, you will complain  instead of working extra hard, your complaint will not bring the prices of things down, they will continue going up and that is a guarantee.

This economy was ravaged and mutilated* by the former thieving and corrupt government and if it wasn't for us securing a seat with our creditors using the *IMF program under the leadership of HH* there would be no economy to discuss. 

Us avoiding a potential default and further downgrade of our bonds has prevented a serious currency crisis which would have sent 98% of this country's citizens into abject poverty. People should be grateful that we have a currency which is not in a crisis. Us defaulting in September this year (2022) would have potentially seen the Kwacha at K80 against the US dollar or worse.. Now Sit down and think a bit how your life would be if the dollar would go for K100., Just imagine how your life would be. The IMF program has prevented all that, the conditions are harsh but not more than a situation where a dollar would fetch Kwacha at K100. 

I repeat, it's time the UPND government started having an honest conversation with the hopeful 2.8million because their expectations will not be met for at least the next 2 or 3 years. People should know that fuel and electricity will go up and goods and services will also go up in price, less money in their pockets because of scrapping off of subsidies. 

Let's not sugarcoat the situation, let's tell people the hard truth and the problems with majority zambians depends on government to create jobs for them. If we can change the mindset the better for Zambia. 

Don't forget the handout syndrome.

President HH has a team who have failed to explian to zambians what is going on hence you see the previous government which was of giving false information on the happenings. They Kno that they let the country in a mess.

I wish President HH a good success in development of Zambia.
